You are not the only one that’s freaking out about having kids at home for a while and running out of ideas to entertain them. We are here to help! Here is a simple experiment with pantry ingredients that can unleash your kid’s creativity and keep them engaged all afternoon (or all-day-long)!

  • a tray of baking soda
  • bowls of white vinegar
  • food coloring
  • Optional: pipette


  1. Spread a box of baking soda (somewhat) evenly in a baking dish (or any tray).
  2. Fill some bowls with white vinegar, and add a few drops of food coloring in each.
  3. The fun part: take the pipette and drop some colored vinegar into the baking soda, and witness the MAGIC!
